Most of you should be back to work by now, so to help you start 2012 smoothly, we thought of this smart yet comfy outfit: Soft cotton polo, Classic stonewash denim, American loafers and  a nice leather belt... We wish a very good year kickoff, easy and confident!

Haven't you heard? The coolest kids on the block are Geeks!  

Pete Cashmore (Mashable), Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), Kevin Rose (Digg), Biz Stone (Twitter)... When Steve Jobs died, St. Croix turtlenecks sales increased almost by 100%! 

Nerdy hipster is no longer out of fashion...

Geeks are coming back with their vintage style and their heavy plastic black-rimmed glasses, the traditional trademark of geek culture. Many celebrities are embracing geek style: Johnny Depp (for years now), Justin Timberlake, Alicia keys, the fresh and upcoming blogger Louise Ebel... It is cool to be geek.

How to dress Geek Chic 

• Wear the right T-shirt. Any color, preferably featuring a print relevant to geek/nerd culture.
• Wear the right sweater and the right vest: Check above for RJ inspiration.
• Converse trainers are a key choice. There are lots of colour options and they go with casual and smart clothes. Loafers and derbies are ok too, providing you get the right pair: Check the Hampton Collection at all RJ shops.
• Your hair has to be messy as if you were in front of the computer the whole day with no time to check the mirror.
• Forget style rules. If it works, whatever the colors and patterns, then it's all good.
• When buying your  glasses, make sure they suit your face.
• Think retro. Look at vintage pictures of film stars and adapt their style to look contemporary.
• Avoid overdoing things. Most people often try to overdo dressing by wearing way too many accessories and clothes. Keep it simple.
• Own your identity!

The Lebanese blogosphere is very active these days! A lot of people are speaking their mind or sharing their interests online, in various fields.
At RJmag, we enjoy reading most of them and wanted them to be part of our newest “wired” issue!

SM is the new black!!

Haven’t you heard? Social media is the hottest trend right now!
As part of Social Media Week in Beirut, Fashion & Beauty panel, RJ SM team was invited to share the RJ experience in the social media adventure.

We talked about our path in that virtual active world: We started with the history of RJ back in the 80’s, our interaction with our customer database since then, and our eagerness to know more about them that had led us to embrace social media.

 We may have just arrived to the social media party but we are making up for lost time! 

We’ve integrated SM as part of our marketing strategy, we created our facebook account, twitter account and the RJ blog: a wide platform to keep you updated with the latest trends in fashion, lifestyle, design, sneek peeks, inside stories and more..
We have installed two giant screens in our new flagship store in ABC achrafieh so that customers can check our FB page or read our twitter timeline while shopping...

Customers are showing us a big support by interacting and sharing nice comments on the facebook wall.

To keep our page active and to reward our loyal customers we have just launched a T-shirt design competition where anyone can participate and find his creations in our shops regionally! for more info [Link]
On Twitter, we create a buzz asking our followers to vote for the #FF follow Friday of the week, the tweep who gets the highest rate wins a special RJ T Shirt.

We have learned a lot from this experience because we are using social media to share, to take feedback and to listen; Not only to sell our products!... Social media gave us the opportunity to know you better and to communicate with you in a personalized way.

This competition solicits T-shirt designs hand-drawn or digital, and the theme is absolutely FREE! 

The contest is open to anyone, in any field, to support creativity in the middle east. There are absolutely no restrictions on age, gender, nationality etc…

Prizes await the creators of the best designs! 

The winning design will be printed and made available for sale in all our branches in Lebanon and abroad with the designer name on the label, as well as a 500$ RJ Voucher.
